Interesting stats, huh? Whiplash is the most commonly used term for what happens when your head and neck suddenly accelerates and is “whipped” back with deceleration. More than 3 million new cases of whiplash occur each year and more than 50 percent of those progress to some degree of chronic symptoms.
Case Study: 93% of Whiplash Patients Cured with Chiropractic
They treated 28 patients with the symptoms of chronic whiplash pain. On average, the patients had been suffering 15.5 months after their auto accident. A chiropractor and orthopedic medical doctor rated patients according to their pain and symptoms: no symptoms, nuisance symptoms, symptoms that intrude upon one’s life and disabling symptoms. Twenty-seven patients were in the two worst groups.
But here’s the beauty of what happened to these incurable whiplash patients: they began healing. By the end of the study, 93% of the auto accident patients had improved. Seventeen of them – 63% who had stopped their treatment altogether because there was no need to continue.
